Privacy

Mealgebra is an offline food diary with no account. Every entry stays in your browser, on your device. We collect neither your email, nor your name, nor the contents of your diary.

What is stored, and where

Diary entries, dishes, your profile, the weight journal and your custom products live in the browser’s local database (IndexedDB) on your device. Only you can reach them, from this browser on this device.

What is never transmitted

The diary does not sync to any cloud and is not sent to a server — a server that receives entries simply does not exist. No sign-up, no login, no email.

Web analytics

The site and the app run Cloudflare’s privacy-first web analytics. It uses no cookies and collects no personal data and no screen contents — only aggregate visit statistics (which pages were opened, from which country). Any blocker stops it; the app works without it.

Cache and updates

Mealgebra installs as a web app: the browser caches its files — the interface and the food database (about 5,700 items) — so everything works offline. These files hold none of your entries. Updates download when a network is available.

Export and deletion

All data exports into a single JSON file (Profile → Data) and imports back the same way. You create the file and you keep it. “Clear site data” in the browser deletes the diary for good — make a copy first.
